Welcome! This is the home of IdahoBrownfields.org , the brownfields resource center for the State of Idaho. Brownfields are properties that have been abandoned or are underutilized due to the perception of contamination from petroleum or hazardous substances. The bad news is, many of these properties are in prime locations close to public services, and are not being developed until they are deemed "clean". The good news is, many of these properties are clean...they just have a bad reputation. The GREAT news is, that even if these properties do have some lingering contaminants there is now nearly $3 million in low-to-no-interest money to assist with cleaning them up for redevelopment. For more information contact Brownfields Information or you local Economic Development District organization.
